Futures Trade Copying
Copy trading on Tradovate, without a VPS
TradeCopier.cloud copies the trades on one Tradovate account to your other futures accounts: more Tradovate logins, Rithmic accounts at other prop firms, or TopstepX accounts. The copier runs on our servers and follows the Tradovate account itself, so it doesn't depend on TradingView, NinjaTrader or your computer staying open.
It's made for traders who hold several accounts. Your forex and CFD accounts can sit in the same dashboard, and a Tradovate account can follow one of them or lead them.
Tradovate Group Trade or a cloud copier?
Tradovate has its own Group Trade feature for placing an order across a group of accounts. Tradovate's help notes that it only works between accounts held with the same brokerage provider.
If your accounts are spread over separate logins or prop firms, or some of them are on Rithmic or TopstepX, a copier that follows one master account is the simpler fit. You trade the master, and every follower takes the trade at the size you set for it.
Connecting a Tradovate account
Adding a Tradovate login takes one sign-in: a Tradovate window pops up from the dashboard, and your password goes to Tradovate alone, never to TradeCopier.cloud. Demo and prop logins work, and so do live logins. After you sign in, the login's active accounts are listed and you choose which ones to add.
NinjaTrader brokerage accounts run on Tradovate, so they connect the same way. If Tradovate ends a sign-in, the Accounts page shows a "Sign in to Tradovate again" button for that login. Signing in again keeps the same connection, and its accounts reconnect on their own.
Settings for each follower
- ✓Sizing per follower: Equity-to-Equity, Contract Multiplier, Risk Multiplier, or Fixed Contracts (whole contracts from 1 to 1,000).
- ✓Copy SL and Copy TP, plus Additional TP/SL measured in ticks.
- ✓Symbol aliases, with presets that swap a full-size contract for its micro at ten times the contracts, for example YM to MYM or GC to MGC.
- ✓Reverse trades, a symbol whitelist or blacklist, and account protection.
Where a Tradovate account can copy to
A Tradovate account can be the master or a follower. As a master, it can feed more Tradovate accounts as well as Rithmic and TopstepX ones. It can also follow a forex/CFD master such as MT5: you pair each CFD with a contract through a symbol alias (NAS100=MNQ, say), and every copy is placed in whole contracts. MT4 and MT5 accounts can follow a Tradovate master too, once each dated contract it trades has an alias pointing to the CFD at your broker.
Frequently asked questions
Can I copy between Tradovate logins held at different prop firms?
Yes. Sign in to each Tradovate login once, make one account the master and add the others as followers. The accounts don't have to share a firm or a login.
Is my Tradovate password shared with TradeCopier.cloud?
No. You type it into a Tradovate popup, so it only ever reaches Tradovate. TradeCopier.cloud is given permission to trade the accounts, never the password itself.
Does NinjaTrader or TradingView have to stay open?
No. The copier runs in the cloud and follows the Tradovate account itself, so it picks up trades whichever app you place them from and keeps working after you close those apps.
Can a Tradovate account copy an MT5 account?
Yes. Give the Tradovate follower a symbol alias for every CFD the MT5 master trades, such as US30=MYM, and it copies those trades in whole contracts. It works the other way round as well: an MT5 or MT4 follower can take a Tradovate master. cTrader, TradeLocker, MatchTrader and DXtrade followers can't take a futures master yet.
What happens when my Tradovate login expires?
When Tradovate ends a sign-in, the Accounts page shows a "Sign in to Tradovate again" button for that login. Sign in again and the login's accounts reconnect without being added again.
