TopstepX to Tradovate

Copying from TopstepX to Tradovate lets Tradovate accounts follow the trades you place on TopstepX. The TopstepX master still needs a ProjectX API key, because TradeCopier.cloud reads its trades through the ProjectX API, while the Tradovate followers connect through Tradovate's own sign-in. Each Tradovate account keeps its own sizing mode, TP/SL offsets in ticks and protection, so each one can be sized to its own balance.

Why copy from TopstepX to Tradovate?

A TopstepX-to-Tradovate setup suits traders whose futures accounts are split across platforms, for example a TopstepX account they trade by hand and prop accounts that run on Tradovate. The Tradovate accounts follow the TopstepX master, so each order is placed once rather than once per platform.

How it works

TradeCopier.cloud connects the TopstepX master and the Tradovate follower from the cloud, each through its own login. Opens and closes on the master are sent on to the Tradovate account, with its contract sizing, symbol aliases (for example YM to MYM for a smaller account) and TP/SL offsets in ticks applied there.

Things to consider

TopstepX and Tradovate are connected in different ways, and each login has to stay authorised for copying to continue. Firms also differ on maximum position size and on whether copy trading is allowed, so check your firms' current rules and test with a single contract before you copy at full size.

Frequently asked questions

Does copying work the other way, from Tradovate to TopstepX?

Yes. Tradovate, Rithmic and TopstepX accounts can each be a master or a follower, so either direction works.

Does the Tradovate account have to trade the same contract?

It trades the master's contract unless you add a symbol alias. An alias can swap a full-size contract for its micro, for example YM to MYM at ten times the contracts.

Can one TopstepX master copy to more than one Tradovate account?

Yes. Add each Tradovate account as its own follower with its own sizing. Followers on the other supported futures platforms can follow the same master too.
